Alumni Mitch FRITZ Named to the 2015/16 M.I.A.C. “All-Rookie Team”

Mitch FRITZ played 102 games for the Bonnyville PONTIACS from 2013 to 2015 scoring 25 goals and 41 assists and was awarded a hockey scholarship to St. John's University in Minnesota this season. Mitch was featured on TSN and ESPN last season after scoring a “Crosby like” lacrosse style goal from behind the net against the Lloydminster BOBCATS in last season's play-offs.

Mitch's strong play as a freshman this season earned him Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference All-Rookie Team honors. He finished his first year, 2nd in the Conference for points and 1st in 'points per game.' This feat was amazing considering that Mitch missed the first 10 games with a broken thumb.

Mitch's father Troy wrote: “Congratulations to the Bonnyville PONTIACS for such a great season and all the very best in this year's play-offs. Mitch's grades are top notch and he had a great season this year, bringing a lot of “PONTIAC Character” to his JOHNNIE (St. John's) experience.” “I will always be on the look-out for the next Minnesota PONTIAC player who is looking to play in the best Junior 'A' organization in the CJHL destined to grow as a better person and a better player.”

The Bonnyville PONTIACS are extremely proud of Mitch's accomplishments. He was a great player for the PONTIACS and an even better citizen for our community!
