Congratulations to Jaden YORK who has Committed to the NCAA Skidmore College Thoroughbreds

The Bonnyville PONTIACS of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) are excited to announce that 3rd year PONTIAC / 2000-born forward Jaden YORK has committed to Skidmore   College (NCAA Division 3) where he’ll attend next season and play for the Thoroughbreds.

Jaden joined the PONTIACS in 2017 and has played 114 games to date. He has been awarded Most Gentlemanly Player at the year-end awards.

“Yorky has been a role model driver of our culture during his time here in Bonnyville. Everyday he comes to “work” in order to better himself on the ice as a player and off the ice he is a champion ambassador in the Lakeland community,” says PONTIACS head coach and general manager, Rick SWAN. “An exemplary citizen and servant leader to his team and this is why Jaden is one of our captains. He is a high character individual that does things right both on and off the ice.”

Skidmore competes in the New England Hockey Conference. The New England Hockey Conference prides itself on being one of the premiere playing conferences for Division III Men’s Hockey. Skidmore College is a private liberal arts college in Saratoga Springs, New York. Approximately 2,650 students are enrolled at Skidmore. Jaden YORK joins PONTIAC Alumni Matthew MONK who played in Bonnyville during the 2018/19 AJHL season.

The Bonnyville PONTIACS, our fans/sponsors and our community wish Jaden the very best in both his hockey and academic journey beyond the 2020/21 AJHL season.

Jaden York becomes the 90th player to play for the Pontiacs that has committed to college since 2013/14.
