McKim played last season in in Surrey in the BCHL and prior to that was the captain of the famed St. Andrews College located in Aurora, Ontario where current PONTIAC Lucas Thorne played.

?I couldn?t be happier for Matthew. He has been an outstanding Pontiac both on and off the ice and his tremendous character has enhanced the culture we have built with our program. UAF is getting an outstanding player and even more importantly an excellent human being? says Head Coach/General Manager Rick Swan. ?Matthew plays the game the right way and he is a great teammate and he is a respected leader in our dressing room. It is great to see Matthew rewarded for his hard work both on and off the ice as he is a great character person who comes from a great supportive family.?

Matthew McKim becomes the 71st player to have played for the Pontiacs and move on to the College level since 2014.
