With their seventh pick (sixth round, 162nd overall) the Nashville Predators selected defenseman Aaron Irving. The Edmonton native this past season played for his hometown Edmonton Oil Kings of the Western Hockey League and helped them win their first Memorial Cup in franchise history. Irving is a two-way defenseman with good size and strength and played for the Bonnyville PONTIACS in 2012/13.
