Jake GRESH and Isaac SANIGA Named to the AJHL All-Rookie North Team

Congratulations to Jake GRESH and Isaac SANIGA on their selections to the 2016/17 All-Rookie North Team as selected by the AJHL North Division Coaches.

18 year old defenseman Jake GRESH is from Avon, Connecticut has committed to the NCAA Division 1 University of Alaska Fairbanks for the 2018/19 season. GRESH last season played for Avon Farms of the New England Prep School League and was also nominated for the AJHL Most Outstanding Rookie in addition to receiving an “AJHL Defensive Player of the Week” honor this season. Jake played 48 games scoring 8 goals and 25 assists.

Forward Isaac SANIGA is from Spruce Grove, Alberta and has had one of the most successful AJHL seasons for a 16 year old in recent memory. SANIGA scored 19 goals and 16 assists in 62 games for the Bonnyville PONTIACS establishing himself as a top 6 forward in the AJHL. Isaac played for the Northern Alberta Extreme the prior to this season.

Both players are outstanding young men and are extremely well-deserved of the league recognition and it is the third consecutive season in which at least one PONTIAC has been placed on the All-League or Rookie Team which includes Brinson PASICHNUK, Bobby McMANN and Ryan BLACK.
