Matthew MONK Commits to the Skidmore College THOROUGHBREDS

The Bonnyville Pontiacs are very excited to announce that 20-year-old defenseman Matthew MONK has committed to the Skidmore College Thoroughbreds (NCAA Division 3) located in Saratoga Springs, New York for the 2019/20 season. The PONTIACS are extremely happy for Matthew and his commitment is so well deserved. MONK, from Langley, British Columbia registered 14 points in 41 games, including 117 penalty minutes with the Pontiacs after joining the club following a mid-season trade. 

?Matthew plays the game the right way and he is a great teammate and respected leader in our dressing room,? said Pontiacs Head Coach Rick Swan. ?It is great to see Matthew rewarded for his hard work both on and off the ice as he is a great character person who comes from a great supportive family.?

Skidmore College is a private liberal arts college in Saratoga Springs, New York with approximately 2,650 students enrolled pursuing a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in one of more than 60 areas of study and is ranked as one of the best national liberal arts colleges in America.

Matthew MONK becomes the 59th player who has played for the Pontiacs and committed to play college hockey since 2013/14.
