The Bonnyville PONTIACS are very proud to announce that captain Locke MULLER has committed to the N.A.I.T. Ooks of the A.C.A.C. for the 2014/15 season. Muller played two seasons for the Bonnyville PONTIACS playing in 101 games registering 47 points and 268 penalty minutes. Prior to joining the PONTIACS, Locke played in the Western Hockey League for two seasons with the Red Deer REBELS and the Saskatoon BLADES.
A native of St. Paul, Alberta Locke was presented the team’s Top Defensive Player Award for both the 2012/13 and the 2013/14 seasons.
Head Coach and General Manager Rick Swan said, “Locke is a difference maker. He is a big, strong physical player who demonstrates exceptional commitment and dedication to his play without the puck and he best excels in the defensive aspects of the game. He is a key contributor on the penalty kill, he plays on the power play, he plays against the other team’s top players, he is on the ice in all important defensive situations, he blocks shots, and his physical play makes him extremely uncomfortable to play against. He is also the leader of our hockey team.”
The N.A.I.T. Ookpiks are getting an impact power forward that will make a significant contribution to Head Coach Serge LAJOIE’s program who were last season’s A.C.A.C. champions. The Bonnyville PONTIACS organization and our fans would like to thank Locke for his contributions and would like to congratulate Locke on his commitment to N.A.I.T. where he will enroll in the faculty of Business.
Locke MULLER joins T.J. CUNNINGHAM – S.A.I.T./A.C.A.C., Dan WEDMAN – Cornell ECAC/Division 1, Spencer FOO – Union/ECAC Division 1 and Sean MOSTROM – Denver/NCHA Division 1 as PONTIACS obtaining College commitments this season.
