PONTIACS Busy Volunteering Around their Hectic Schedule

Although the Bonnyville PONTIACS have played more games in the Alberta Junior Hockey League than any other team they take pride in and continue to find time to be involved in the Lakeland community. Their goal continues to be inolved in the community more than any other team in Junior hockey.

The Bonnyville PONTIACS were extremely busy this first half with the players attending the Dove Center Christmas Festival Party, the Santa's Anonymous Toy Collection Drive, School visits handing out free PONTIAC game tickets as well as greeting students, BMHA tour and use of the PONTIAC dressing room, BMHA post-game autographs, the Kidsport Santa Christmas Skate, the Santa's Elves Wrap for Santa's Anonymous, the Child Center's Christmas Party and Guest Santa, the Bonnyville PONTIAC Volunteer Appreciation Dinner, BMHA Pee Wee AA Christmas Skate, Duclos School Christmas Skate and party, the SAT NCAA Prep examination, Addictions Awareness Campaign, weekly C-School, H.E. The Bonnyville PONTIACS are focused on developing “ideal citizens” with their players with an emphasis on servant leadership through volunteering initiatives. Our players are always willing to step in and help out with any situation when they are needed and would bend over backwards to help anyone they could. Our players learn to understand the importance of family and 'giving back' in our community to make the area, in which we live, a better place. Our players also value all individuals equally by being involved in as many things as possible around the community. Last season we volunteered over 1500 hours to the community and with initiatives. This season our goal is to exceed those numbers.

For 2016 the Lakeland community can count on more of the same from the Bonnyville PONTIACS.
