The Bonnyville PONTIACS will be hosting their “Annual Tribute Game” which honors specific people and organizations within the community of Bonnyville and the Lakeland area to recognize them for the tremendously positive impact that they provide to our citizens each and every day.
The Bonnyville PONTIACS organization designates a game in January every season to acknowledge those who support and contribute to our community. In past years, proceeds from the sale of the authentic game worn jerseys, which represent those people and organizations being honored, have been donated to the Bonnyville Health Foundation. In the past we have honored our Emergency Services, the Cancer Society and Mr. Victor RINGETTE who is a long-time supporter of our community. Over the past three years the Bonnyville PONTIACS have raised close to $30,000.00 for the Health Foundation.
This year the Bonnyville PONTIACS are privileged to dedicate our Annual Tribute Game to the 4 Wing Cold Lake and our military both past and present. We would like to do this as a token of our appreciation to those who have risked their lives to protect the freedoms that we hold dear today.
There are three main goals that we have with our Tribute Game: to pay tribute – a reminder of the sacrifice made by our soldiers from the past and the present; to remind people that the war is not over; and to recognize the community's relationship with the troops.
