The Bonnyville Pontiacs are excited to announce Ruben Stone has signed with the team for the upcoming 2025-2026 season.
"Visiting Bonnyville showed me what a good organization the Pontiacs are," said Ruben Stone. "The facility and community seem like a great place to grow and learn. The staff are super welcoming and committed to player development.
"Fans can expect a high compete, strong, two-way defenseman on the ice, as well as a kind and caring person in the community."
Stone spent last season with the U18 RINK HA Kelowna Prep team as a rookie, where the 6'2, 174lbs Stone produced one goal and 19 assists for a total of 20 points in 24 games played. Despite just playing one year of U18 hockey, Stone is now preparing to make the jump to Junior A. hockey.
"I'm most excited to get to know the community and play in front of the fans," said Stone. "I would like to thank my parents, former coaches and trainers for believing in me and pushing me everyday. I would also like to thank the Pontiacs organization for giving me this opportunity. "
A phrase the Kelowna, BC native likes to live by is, "be better than the person you were yesterday", displaying the 18-year-old Stone's desire to continue growing and not rest on his laurels.
This will be the young defenseman’s rookie season in the AJHL and first time playing Junior A. hockey.
The Bonnyville Pontiacs are excited to welcome Ruben and the Stone family into the organization.
