The Bonnyville & District Centennial Centre’s, R.J. Lalonde Arena opened on November 27th, 1982 and is home to the Alberta Junior Hockey League’s Bonnyville Pontiacs. The arenas name is a testament to the late Rosaire Joseph Lalonde, in honor of his 19 years of volunteer service to minor hockey. The ‘RJ’ boasts a standard sized NHL ice surface including a state of the art dehumidification system. In addition, the R.J. Lalonde Arena includes:

• 1850 Seating Capacity
• Corporate Suites overlooking the arena’s West end
• Sports Lounge and observation deck overlooking the arena’s East end
• Full service concession including Starbucks coffee
• Bonnyville Pontiacs private dressing room complete with, 26 player stalls, stick room, clothes room, video room, shower and bathroom area, trainers room, coaches room and laundry area
• 1500 square foot Players Lounge & Board Room complete with, leather couches, satellite television, x-box 360, board table, lunch area, study area and washroom facilities
• Pontiac practices are run daily at 2:15 in the ‘RJ,’ with the occasional practice or pre-game skate being held in the Centennial Centre’s second surface, the Encana Arena. Each practice is designed to be high tempo and challenging in order to improve individual skills, team tactics and develop positive work habits.

BONNYVILLE & DISTRICT CENTENNIAL CENTRE

The Bonnyville & District Centennial Centre opened in the fall of 2007, and instantly became the areas premiere recreational facility. Amenities and features include:

• A three lane, 583-foot indoor running/walking track
• Flint Field House with soccer pitch, four volleyball courts, six badminton courts, three basketball courts, and numerous track-and-field capabilities
• Two NHL regulation sized ice surfaces plus leisure pond
• CNRL Learning Centre including, Portage College, Lakeland College and NAIT
• All About You Unisex Day Spa
• Fully licensed food and bar services including Starbucks coffee

WELLNESS CENTER

The Wellness Center is a 5,000 square foot, state of the art facility consisting of world leading Cardiovascular training equipment, a dance studio/aerobics room, resistance machine training circuit, free weight area, stretching cage, spinning equipment, personal trainers, specialized programming, and much more.

The team prepares workout schedules for the players, with a focus on improving their speed, strength, power and aerobic conditioning. Depending on the game schedule, players are expected to train 3-4 times per week before and/or following daily practices. Information on proper rest, hydration, and nutrition is provided to players, ensuring they are energized for all games.
