Thanks for all that you do in the community Pontiacs

The Bonnyville PONTIACS completed another exceptional year with community service and involvement in the Lakeland area and Bonnyville community.

The Pontiacs organization has high expectations both on and off the ice for every member of our hockey club, from the coaching staff, to each other, all the way down to our players.

We also feel that, as an organization, in a community that supports us so strongly, we have a major responsibility in being positive role models and mentors helping people and worthy causes in all areas of life. As a coaching staff we encourage that, on and off the ice our players embrace the pride and commitment level required to dedicate themselves each and every day to become better athletes and people.

Our Bonnyville PONTIAC organization represents ‘more than just hockey’ and it will be the best program to play Junior ‘A’ hockey in the country because our culture and our environment both on and off the ice reflects ‘doing things right and treating people the right way;’ it reflects helping players achieve their goals on and off the ice; it reflects a family emphasis where our people grow and thrive gratefully during and after they leave our program because of their time spent as a Bonnyville PONTIAC.

Our players spoke to over 1500 students this past year delivering important lessons relating to literacy, anti-bullying, sexual assault awareness, dangers of digital and social media, respect, the “golden rule” and mechanisms to deal with life issues that our youth deal with on a daily basis.

Our goal is to 'make a day' every day and become contributing citizens by enhancing the community which our players live during the season. The importance of being a servant leader is the greatest leadership a young player can portray. Our players have been a part of 2000 plus man hours giving back to our community (over 7000 hours in the past 4 years) and  learned as a PONTIAC, that the most important things in life are directly related back to serving others…  by being a good person… by treating those around you the right way. Our philosophy with learning to be servant we have equipped our players for life because the greatest feeling in the world is to give your gift away to make a better day for others.
