Understanding Family Violence
Family violence is one of the most serious social problems facing society today. It is widespread throughout the rest of Canada, affecting 51% of Canadian women over the age of 16. Family violence includes the abuse of children, youth, older persons, spouses or partners and the disabled.
The Bonnyville PONTIACS were proud to join the St. Paul Columbus House Walk of Hope today to support Domestic Violence Awareness and sign the declaration to kick off Family Violence Prevention Month. Family violence affects us all. It has negative social, financial and health impacts on those directly involved, as well as on their friends and family, colleagues, community and society at large.
