Coach DRAPER Receives Life Time Member Award from the South Side Athletic Club

Congratulations to Associate Coach and Assistant General Manager Larry DRAPER who was awarded “Life Time Member” status with Edmonton's South Side Athletic Club.

Each year the South Side Athletic Club recognizes an individual or individuals for their significant contributions to the SSAC and honor the service they have provided to the athletes over a period of time. Lifetime members include Founders, Directors, Coaches and Volunteers. Lifetime membership is the highest honor and is bestowed to a small but very distinguished group of individuals who have provided a significant period of years of continuous and extraordinary service to the SSAC.

Coach DRAPER guided the 2004/05 Midget AAA team to the AMHL Provincial Championship as well as the Pacific Regional Championship enroute to the 2005 Telus Cup. That was the SSAC first and only appearance in the National Championship tournament. SSAC is the only 'Edmonton' team to have won the AMHL in 30 years.

Coach DRAPER is one of only two coaches to have won the prestigious AMHL 'Glen SATHER Coach of the Year' on two occasions and has coached Bantam and Midget rep hockey for 25 years. He is also a major part of the coaching staff recognition with the Alberta Junior Hockey League 'Coaching Staff of the Year' during his tenure with the Bonnyville PONTIACS and was previously involved with the Spruce Grove SAINTS winning two Gas Drive Cup Championships.

Coach DRAPER has his High Performance 1 – NCCP 3 certification with Hockey Canada and currently resides in Bonnyville.

Great job Coach DRAPER – the Bonnyville PONTIACS are extremely proud of your accomplishment.
