February 12th versus the Sherwood Park CRUSADERS is the Annual CNR Anti- Bullying Night

The CNR / Bonnyville PONTIACS “Anti-Bullying Night” will be held on February 12th when the Bonnyville PONTIACS take on the visiting Sherwood Park CRUSADERS.

Over the last month the Bonnyville PONTIACS have delivered the message of “RESPECT – Its the Name of Our Game” to students in the Lakeland Region. Over the 2014/15 and 2015/16 AJHL seasons, over 2200 students between the ages of 4 and 15 were provided with presentations focusing on the effects of abuse related to bullying along with solutions to help youth “take a stand” to stop violence in schools and society in general.

With the incredible support of CNR, students who received the PONTIAC 'RESPECT' presentations, are invited to attend the game against the Sherwood Park CRUSADERS which will promote to our youth to “Take a Stand Against Bullying.”

The goal of the CNR PONTIACS annual anti-bullying game is to increase awareness around the importance of preventing bullying and promoting healthy relationships. Bullying can affect Albertans in their schools, workplaces, communities and online. Bullying creates fear and threatens the safety and well-being of individuals, families and society as a whole. When bullying happens, all of us suffer.  To decrease or eliminate bullying behaviors, we need to work together to create build healthy and respectful relationships. When people feel respected and included, they are more likely to reach their potential, give back to their communities and promote healthy relationships with others.

Students who wear pink at the game will be eligible for some great door prizes donated by the Bonnyville PONTIACS.
