After a tremendous 32 years the Bonnyville Junior A Pontiacs will have a different name attached to them.
The recognizable B&R Eckels Transport LTD Logo will be replaced by the new Title and Presenting Sponsor, ENT Oilfield.
“There is not enough thanks in the world to thank Victor and the Ringuette family for all of there contributions and dedication to the Pontiacs over the past 32 years,” said Pontiacs associate general manager Neil Langridge.
“It is safe to say that the Junior A Pontiacs would not be here in Bonnyville today without the support from the B&R Eckels family.
“Through good times and bad, B&R Eckels and the Ringuette family stood by the team to make them what they are today, a highly competitive Junior A franchise in what is statistically the AJHL’s smallest market.”
With the end of an era marks new beginnings for the Pontiacs.
“The ENT Oilfield brand and logo is a testament to the community spirit that is alive and thrives in the Bonnyville community,” said Langridge. “Jeff and his partners at ENT Oilfield have been partners with the Pontiacs since their inception a few years ago.
“They are vocal with their support of the organization and what it means to our area and community. When the opportunity presented itself to be named the Pontiacs Presenting Title Sponsor, they jumped at it.”
ENT is locally owned and employs over 125 people and stresses the importance of supporting their community and families of their valued employees.
“We are proud to be located in Bonnyville and call the Lakeland home,” said ENT general manager Jeff Madden. “We have always been proud to support the Pontiacs in previous years and when the opportunity came up to grow our relationship in a bigger way, we didn’t want to miss it.
“Having ENT on the Jerseys of the Pontiacs, shows our commitment to the community and our love for the Pontiac’s. Teaming up with the Pontiacs has been very rewarding as they are a valued part of our community, and we are excited to be apart of their legacy now and long into the future.”
Pontiac fans first chance to see the fresh new look will be this Friday September 13th for the 2024/25 AJHL Season Home Opener.
The Bonnyville Welding Tailgate party fires up at 5:00pm with free burgers and pop and the game kicks off against the brand-new expansion team Devon Xtreme at 7:00pm at the RJ Lalonde Arena.
