Robb HUNTER Heads to Summerside, Prince Edward Island

The Bonnyville Pontiacs are pleased to announce that for the third year in a row the organization will be represented at the Royal Bank Cup Jr. ‘A’ National Championship.  Play-by-play voice of the Pontiacs, Robb Hunter has again accepted an invitation from Hockey Canada’s broadcast partner FAST Hockey to provide coverage of the RBC Cup in Summerside, PEI which starts May 11th, 2013.

“Working with Robb for the past year I have seen his dedication to not only the Bonnyville PONTIACS organization but also Junior ‘A’ hockey in Canada,” said PONTIACS General Manager and Head Coach Rick Swan. “Robb is exceptional at and driven to refine his craft and has been providing PONTIACS fans with exciting and outstanding play-by-play since moving to Bonnyville.”

Robb HUNTER has been the voice of the Pontiacs on Kool 101.3 for seven seasons now and this will be his third trip to the RBC Cup having previously broadcast the 2012 tournament in Humboldt, Saskatchewan and the 2011 RBC Cup in Camrose, Alberta.

“Any chance you get to work with Hockey Canada on any event you have to do your best to make yourself available,” said HUNTER. “It’s always an honor to be asked to take part in a national championship at any level, especially one as prestigious as the RBC Cup.”

In addition to being involved in three straight RBC Cups, HUNTER has called the last two TELUS Cups (Midget AAA National Championship), the 2011 Allan Cup (Senior A National Championship), the 2012 and 2011 World Sledge Hockey Challenges and the 2011 Esso Cup (Female Midget National Championship) on FAST Hockey.
