Coach SWAN and Coach DRAPER led a coaching session with the PONTIACS for the Bonnyville Minor Hockey Association last week.
The 15 minor hockey coaches had an opportunity to be involved with the Novice 1 practice which focused on the importance of utilizing half ice teaching. Quality repetitions, 'Position Specific Habits,' individual and team tactics and individual and team structure were emphasized to support the role of 'drill building' within the practice's structure.
At the end of the session the players and PONTIACS took part in a team building exercise that supported the 'big picture perspective' of using hockey as a vehicle to grow and enhance the physical and emotional well-being of the young athletes that coaches have the privilege of coaching.
