Heading into the 2025-2026 season, Chad Nelson has been with the Pontiac organization for eight seasons. Joining the team as a scout back in 2018, Nelson worked his way up to the Director of Player Personnel in 2020 and was then promoted to general manager prior to the 2022 season.
Chad operates specifically on the player development and recruitment side. He travels across North America throughout the year with the sole purpose of finding prospects and undervalued players.
Chad Nelson has also spent time as the Western Canadian Scout for the Chicago Steel of the USHL (United States Hockey League), where he was on staff for their 2021 Clark Cup Championship.
He is also an alumni of the Pontiacs program, playing with the Pontiacs in 2004-2005. Chad looks forward to bringing a championship to the Lakeland community and the Pontiacs organization in the near future.
