The Bonnyville Jr. A Pontiacs are excited to announce that Head Coach and General Manager Rick Swan has signed a two-year contract extension which will see him be a Pontiac until the 2022-2023 season. Coach Swan first joined the Pontiacs organization as an assistant coach during the 2012-13 season under then head coach Chad Mercier. Going into the Pontiacs 30th anniversary season, Swan is not only the longest tenured Head Coach in Pontiac history, but also the all-time winningest coach.
“The Bonnyville Pontiacs Board of Directors are thrilled to have Rick on board for the next two seasons,” said Pontiacs President and Governor Ron Rusnak. “Not only has Coach Swan shown great integrity during his tenure but also has brought our program to the next level in the AJHL. His loyalty to the organization and community has been unwavering. We believe that Rick and his staff will continue to push forward to bring the Pontiacs to new heights on and off the ice.”
The Pontiacs are also proud to announce that along with Coach Swan they have resigned Assistant Coach TJ Millar and Assistant Coach/General Manager Neil Langridge to contract extensions through the 2022-2023 season.
Langridge and Millar have been in the Pontiacs organization since 2016 and 2018, respectively.
“Both TJ and Neil bring a ton of value to our hockey operations staff day in and day out and we believe that we have two very bright young minds helping grow our organization. These two individuals bring a youthful exuberance along with experience and knowledge to our staff,” said Head Coach Rick Swan.
