The Alberta Junior Hockey League today announced the 2017-2018 Viterra All-Rookie teams as selected by the General Managers and Coaches of the AJHL.
Congratulations to 2001 born defenseman Kirby PROCTOR who was named to the Viterra North Division All-Rookie Team joining teammate Lucas THORNE. PROCTOR is from Okotoks, Alberta and lead the PONTIACS defensemen in scoring. PROCTOR played for Pursuit of Excellence in Kelowna, British Columbia. He is a strong skating defenseman who possesses a high 'hockey IQ' and as a 16 year old made a huge impression as a first year Junior 'A' player. PROCTOR is a person of high character and undoubtedly will continue to be an impact player moving forward. Coming to Bonnyville allowed Kirby to obtain the necessary development to put himself in the position to earn the recognition that the AJHL provided with the All-Rookie honor. Kirby PROCTOR is the second defenseman (and the 4th player) in consecutive years to be selected to the AJHL All-Rookie North Team. Jake GRESH was named to the team in 2016/17.
