Pontiacs Acquire Gauld from Kodiaks

The Bonnyville Pontiacs have acquired forward (’04) Myles Gauld from the Camrose Kodiaks in exchange for forward (’04) Ludovik Tardif.

Gauld played 54 games with the Kodiaks last season, earning 16 goals and 21 assists for 37 points. This season, the Calgary native has produced five goals and six assists for 14 points in 24 games played with the Kodiaks.

“We are extremely excited to bring Myles to the Pontiacs organization,” said associate general manager Chad Nelson.

“It is rare when you can add a captain from another organization and to add someone of Myles character is a huge addition to our program. He is a play driver and offensively creative, and we look forward to injecting Myles into our lineup this weekend.

“We would also like to thank Ludo for his time and contributions to our program over the last two years. He was a big part of our playoff drive to the league semi-finals last year and we wish him continued success this season in Camrose.”

In 53 games with the Pontiacs Tardif scored 21 goals and produced 19 assists for 40 points over the last two seasons.

“To receive a good player, we need to give a good one”, said Pontiacs head coach Mario Pouliot.

“In Gauld we get a guy that can play both center or wing, he brings speed, grit, can play on the powerplay and penalty kill, and plays a 200ft game.

“He was also the Kodiaks team captain which speaks to his character both on and off the ice. He’s excited to come here and help us fight for a championship and we are really excited to have him join the team.”

The Pontiacs welcome Myles to the organization and wish all the best to Ludovik Tardif going forward and thank him for his tenure with the Yaks.

The fans’ first chance to see Myles Gauld don the Pontiacs jersey on home ice will be Friday December 8th, 2023, against the Blackfalds Bulldogs at 7:00pm.
