PONTIACS Involved in “Right to Play Day” Fundraiser

The United Nations recognizes play as the right of every child. Play is NOT a luxury; it is a tool for education and health. It can bring entire communities together and inspire every individual. For example a game of football can teach children about tolerance and peace, and a game of tag can teach children about malaria. Play helps teach important life lessons and develop skills like cooperation, leadership, and teamwork.

Levi and Dallas ANSELL represented the Bonnyville PONTIACS at the Dr. BROSSEAU School's “Right to Play Day” fundraiser held on June 21st, 2013. Levi and Dallas acted as group leaders to the hundreds of kids in attendance. The mission of “Right to Play” is to use sport and play to educate and empower children and youth to overcome the effects of poverty, conflict, and disease in disadvantaged communities around the world.

The all day event included fun and activities for kids of all ages and the Bonnyville PONTIACS were proud to be a part of such a worthy cause. Thank you Levi and Dallas for your time and for helping make a difference to the youth of our world.
