The Strike Group / Bonnyville PONTIACS Coach and Player Mentorship Program is designed to provide Lakeland Area Minor Hockey players coaches with supplemental educational opportunities, one-on-one mentoring and to provide support with the young players they coach. It also allows our players to act as role models by working directly with the minor hockey players within our community and teach them on-ice as well as life skills. The mentoring of players at all levels is the key to the future growth and betterment of minor hockey. The ultimate outcome is improving athlete development through mentoring or youth and coaches and to ensure that they are involved in the game for the right reasons.
Already this year the PONTIACS have had the opportunity to attend minor hockey practices and have upcoming sessions focusing on goaltending and coach mentorship.
