Two Bonnyville locals commit; Heinrich commits as well

The Bonnyville Pontiacs are excited to announce signings for the 2022-23 season, which includes two local Bonnyville products.

Brent Hoshowski and Dylan Hebert from Bonnyville and Noah Heinrich from Provost, AB have signed to join the Pontiacs in the years to come.

All three players attended Pontiacs main camp this year.

“I choose Bonnyville because of the amount of players that they move on to the next level,” said Hoshowski. “It also gives me a chance to give back to the community that raised me. It feels great to have an amazing organization and coaching staff to help me along my journey.”

Hoshowski and Hebert will be playing together on the Lloydminster Bobcats U18AAA team.

Hebert said he has a good relationship with the Pontiacs coaches, thanks to their involvement with Bonnyville Minor Hockey.

“Growing up being a hometown Bonnyville kid, I’ve always wanted to be a Pontiac,” said Hebert. “Watching what the Pontiacs do with their team development and with their history of getting athletes to the next level was impressive.

“I wanted to go to the best place to develop as a hockey player and person, and being around the team this year during main camp and pre-season, I had no question that their coaches can help get me to the next level and help me pursue my dream of playing college hockey,” he said.

Meanwhile, Noah Heinrich has returned to his club team OHA Edmonton.

Heinrich was called up to the Pontiacs during AJHL Showcase weekend to get into two games and drew a lot of attention from NCAA scouts.

“Bonnyville offered a great cultural environment with a great group of players, coaches, and staff who welcomed me into their family with open arms since the first day I attended their camp,” said Heinrich.

“The commitment the players and coaches make to be the best versions of themselves each and everyday, whether it’s on or off the ice, is something that I wanted to be apart of,” he continued.

“The development and coaching I will receive playing for the Pontiacs will put me on the path to become a very impactful player at the junior level, and give me the tools I need to play at the next level.”

The Bonnyville Pontiacs are excited to welcome these prospects into the organization and wish them good luck on their upcoming seasons.
