Three PONTIACS Will Be Attending the Team Canada West Camp for the World Junior ‘A’ Championships

24 AJHL Players were invited to the Team Canada West Camp for WJAC. The Team Canada West selection camp will welcome 60 players looking to earn one of 22 spots on Team Canada West’s final 2015 World Junior A Challenge roster when it hosts the team’s selection camp, December 5-8 in Leduc, Alberta.

Of the 24 AJHL players invited to the camp, the Bonnyville PONTIACS Bobby McMANN and Brinson PASICHNUK were chosen.

Bobby McMANN, an NCAA Colgate University commit is currently second in AJHL scoring with 24 goals and 18 assists in 28 games, 1 point behind Canmore's Matt FORCHUK. Brinson PASICHNUK, an NCAA Vermont University commit currently leads all AJHL defensemen in scoring and was the AJHL October Player of the Month. Brinson is also on the current NHL Central Scouting Player Watch list.

Head Coach and General Manager Rick SWAN was also be attending the camp as a guest coach and evaluator to assist Coach FRAGILE's staff in selecting the final 22 players who will represent Team Canada West in Cobourg, Ontario.

PONTIACS Play-by-Play announcer Robb HUNTER will be representing Hockey Canada as part of the FAST Hockey broadcasts during the actual WJAC tournament. 

Hockey Canada, in partnership with the Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL), released the 60-player roster on Wednesday. Players named to the Team Canada West selection camp roster were selected from the CJHL’s five western Junior A leagues: the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL), Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL), Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL), Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) and Superior International Junior Hockey League (SIJHL).

The selection camp roster was chosen by Team Canada West head coach Tim Fragle (Sherwood Park, AJHL) along with assistant coaches Paul Dyck (Steinbach, MJHL), Mike Reagan (Flin Flon, SJHL) and Barry Wolff (Coquitlam, BCHL), and director of hockey operations Trevor Alto (BCHL).

The selection camp, scheduled for Dec. 5-8, will be held at the Leduc Recreation Centre in Leduc, Alta. The 60 players will be divided into three teams and play four intrasquad games (two 25-minute, running-time periods each) over three days.
